Neither of us have cows milk now xx
Thanks for your reply. He does have meat and vegetables. Lentils are someone we only use now and again but I'll try incorporate them into some dishes. X
Yes better not to hv it as it has more protein n mess up with our milk. Often I’ve seen mums who had milk while bfding have had this issue. Hope ur baby feels better soon
Just to clarify - cows milk also means anything that contains milk/dairy so chocolate, cheese, butter, yoghurt etc sorry if you knew this but you said in your original post you hadn’t cut these out yet - unfortunately you won’t see any improvement in allergy symptoms until cows milk is cut out in its entirety. It’s frustrating but also good practice to check labels etc as milk sneaks into a lot of things. Recommend cutting it out completely for 3-4 weeks then reintroducing to see if baby has any returning symptoms and that confirms/disproves the allergy. Oatly oat milk is fortified with calcium and some plant based yoghurts are too. If you breastfeed make sure you take a calcium supplement containing at least 1000mg and vitamin D supplement whilst cutting out dairy. For 3-4 weeks offer milk alternatives in his food as well as his usual balanced diet and he shouldn’t be missing out on anything major. Good luck ☺️
@Harriet this is really useful thank you xx
Do you mean cow milk with his breakfast or you drinking cow milk ? Try to avoid cow milk for urself if it helps him. I’m lactose intolerant so I don’t drink cow milk. Both my babies were/are ebf… He is getting your milk, that’s the no.1 nutrients you’re giving. For first year, mums milk or formula is the main source for nutrients… do give lentils, meats (if u guys eat), iron rich foods. I know it’s worrying … despite me being second time mum I stress abt food intake for my kids but they relatively eats well.
