Baby bad reflux

My 3 month old baby has always had reflux and has colic. But recently the vomiting has gotten so bad! He vomits when burped straight after feed, then 5 mins later, 15 mins later, an hour later then has a nap wakes up and vomits loads more. The GP said it’s all normal as he’s growing and gaining weight and not projectile vomiting. But this is all day long non stop with or without feed. He is a super hungry boy but chokes when he’s drinking. A few weeks ago he also rejected my breasts for breast milk so now all I can do is pump for him and put in bottle. He will have around 120ml formula and seems like he vomits around 40% of it. The vomit goes all over him all over us and puddles on the floor or bed etc. it seems like too much for one baby to keep vomiting. Gp gave gaviscon and it made it worse and he got bad constipation from it. We tried thicker formula and same thing happened and he still vomited. Is there anything else I can do? Gp just doesn’t seem to listen. It’s hard as he doesn’t sleep much in the day and wakes up vomiting and choking. It ruins his sleep. He only burps once and we keep trying for ages sometimes to see if it helps and nothing else comes out. I’m so worried about him and I just can’t imagine what it’s like to be puking non stop all day and all night. Has anyone else been through this?

Nowhere near as bad as you - but we found that infacol and then moved to colief in the bottle did help my LG with some of her discomfort. She was also a big gulper of a feed so we’ve kept her on the lower flow teats to try and stop her from being so “enthusiastic” and then bringing loads up. Another trick we’ve found recently is giving her a dummy for a bit after a feed encourages her to swallow and keep the milk moving through her digestive system and that has also helped with some of the reflux.

Really sorry you’re having such a tough time - fingers crossed that your wee man finds his rhythm with feeding soon 🤞🏻 And well done on the pumping - that’s super hard as well so you should feel so proud even though it’s so hard ❤️

My first was the same, it's horrible, especially when you aren't listened to. For us it only resolved around 7 months when he was weaning and sitting up a lot, but here are some things that helped in the meantime;

- Omeprazole - I did have to mither the GP for this, it didn't stop the sick, but did take away a lot of the discomfort and crying. We did use Gaviscon, but only in the evening bottles as this is when his reflux was worse.

- Switching Formula - for us the reflux and colic were symptoms of CMPA. You could ask the GP for a dairy free formula, or cut dairy if you are breastfeeding to see if this helps. He did still have some reflux after this, but not as bad.

- Other - used a slower flow teat for bottles, he was always a guzzler and this helped pace him better. Feeding upright, burping every 1-2 ounces (infacol if needed) and keeping upright for at least 20 mins after.

If your GP won't listen, maybe ask the HV for advice. Mine actually wrote to the GP on my behalf when I wasn't being listened to.

Hi! I was going through similar and ended up turning into a milk allergy. For 11 weeks we thought it was colic and reflux 😞, my girl is now 13 weeks and on Neocate with a thickener, we use gripe in her night bottles too for the wind xx

Thanks guys! I will try and see if maybe he has a milk allergy! I’ve purchased a milk thickener so let’s see if that helps as well. We even went to see an orthopaedic but it wasn’t much help.

He’s now vomiting so much and choking so badly on it. Twice now he’s suffocated whilst choking on his vomit and I can’t rest until I can try make it at least a little better for him.

The way he choked on his spit up just made me want to cry as he was gasping for air and I tapped his back! I just hope something helps him.

did you add gripe water to the formula in the bottle? I never tried that

yeah I might need to ask my HV
This amount of reflux is just unbelievable. Everyone just keeps saying it’s normal. But since the choking incidents and I mean it’s severe - I just can’t seem to accept it’s normal and want him to feel ok 😞😭

Yeah, just a teaspoon. I usually only put it in her night bottles because its 6 feeds max xx

Ok thanks ☺️

My one was similar and I was breastfeeding her. I removed the milk from my diet, gave biogaia probiotics and took her to an osteopath a couple of times. This solved the issue practically. Now she has reflux but very minimum. Hope it helps for your baby 🙏

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?
