Try a hypochlorous acid spray and then let them do diaper less while it dries

@Karen thanks so much.

16+ hours of diaper free time a day. Which was very hard to do. Washing bum with water every time he pooed. Drying bum with hairblow dryer. Cavalon cream as a barrier cream. I did all of this for months and his open sores got better but never fully healed until we cut dairy out of his diet. Then he healed in 3 days! Turns out he had diarrhea from the dairy so pooing so much there was no chance for it to heal fully. And the doctors kept saying it was normal newborn poo... pfft!

How old is the baby?

@Melody it happened to us! Exactly like that! The problem was the milk protein!

Definitely nappy free time. If you know you’re going to be out then try and get some really small toddler knickers/pants that are cotton and put them on and then a nappy over. There won’t be any leaks whilst you’re out because the nappy will obviously soak it up when they wee but the cotton will be softer than a nappy for times where they can’t be nappy free. Just take a few pairs out with you and put a new pair on when you change them and chuck the dirty ones in a nappy bag they can be washed when you’re home xx

@Jenny Vargas thank you for sharing. I feel so much less alone knowing that the exact same thing happened to someone else. We were so stressed at the time and felt so alone. The doctors we had seen so far were no help and we couldn't find the answers online either.
