Clogged milk duct

Is anyone else dealing with a clogged milk duct at the moment? I’m miserable with this burning sensation and pain, and a white spot appeared on the tip of my nipple two days ago. The GP said to keep an eye on it and try to unclog it myself if possible—otherwise, they’ll need to use a needle, which I obviously don’t want. Any recommendations?

I’ve had mastitis twice in 10 weeks from clogged ducts! I’ve spoken to a lactation consultant and they advised me to massage with a comb and apply a cold pack xx

@Shannon did you have the procedure with needle?

It's horrible. Treat it like inflammation, ibuprofen and cold compress after feeds. See the feeding team to understand why the breast isn't emptying. Ive had the same and have been advised additionally to do more compressions and hand expressions. Keep feeding - it will pass. I've also tried applying cabbage leaves which finally made mine move last night after 3 days.. But could be a coincidence .

Nooo I didn’t, Ive been prescribed antibiotics both times x

Is the white spot tingling? I have this and was told it could be vasospasm.

Following as also in the same situation. I'm doing block feeding, cold pack and changed bf position, which seems to have helped not having them as often. HV suspects it was because of over supply. I've been having clogged milk ducts every 2/3 days in both breasts. Last episode was really bad, could not even have a bra on or bring my arm up. But it was gone in 24h doing what I said above. I have the lansinoh cold packs which are great.
