I got mine removed 6 weeks pp! I am so glad I did, I have no pain anymore! Just stay hydrated and avoid greasy foods for now!
@Hannah that was what I was told to do and I was told to eat the brat diet as well until I get my gallbladder removed
i got mine out and it’s the best thing i’ve ever done! i was in pain pain for 2 days 3rd day was pain 4-6 day was okay and by a week i was moving and picking up baby even tho i shouldn’t but had no choice lol
I had mine removed 5 weeks after I had my son. I had my first “attack” and literally rhought I was about to die - turns out I was and it was really lucky I went to hospital when I did. I had to have emergency surgery and I was so fortunate they let me take my baby with me as I was still breastfeeding him (they had me stay on the maternity ward lol) Have you suffered g/b issues in the past? I would be asking them to still remove it regardless of taking any meds they want you on for the time being
@M. We’ve noticed it a lot during pregnancy & postpartum it has gotten bad to where it is bothering me while I’m working or even just doing day to day tasks with my daughter
@M. i had my first gb attack while pregnant it was awful and then when i was 7m pp i got it removed i could’ve sooner but i wanted the holidays with my baby not in bed. all i have to say is my labor was 19hrs and i had no epi or pain relief and i don’t remember much but i do remember all my gb attacks and i think i rather give birth 100 more times than even have another attack 😆
Hey, I work on a surgical day case unit, I see a lot of gallbladder removals. It’s an uncomfortable one, mainly because they pump you up with air to be able to reach your gallbladder so you may feel pain in your chest and shoulders, make sure you get some peppermint tea for after your surgery, this helps with the trapped air, also moving around after your surgery will help move the air out x
@Maisie thanks for the advice much needed!
Had mine removed yesterday which went well, not allowed to lift my 2 year old for strictly 2 weeks but idealy 6. Im lucky there is many of us in the house but hes being good about it at the moment, iv told him mummy has a booboo and showed him the dressing and he hasent climbed on me☺️many people suffer with gas pain post surgery so i did get the chewable rennies ready but nothing so far just feeling sore
I got mine removed 2 weeks pp! I woke up randomly with worst pain and I rushed to hospital stayed for 5 days. I got it out and healed just fine.
I get mine done tomorrow
But I get to come home the same day I get it done unless there’s any complications
@Hokulani I would be def trying to get it removed if it’s that bad. As others have mentioned they do pump you with gas so make sure you have something on hand for the recovery 😊
@Josie good luck with it hun 🫶🏼😊

@M. Thanks
@Josie I found having a hot water bottle on hand was really helpful with the post surgical pains and as someone mentioned above some over the counter gas tablets if you experience the gas pains 😊
Okay
I had mine removed a few weeks postpartum. Everything went well! The attacks I had during pregnancy (some of them) were more painful than my unmedicated/induced birth. Knowing I'll never have to worry about them again is a relief. 🙂
@Christina this week for me has been rough I said the same thing to my mother in law on Sunday that the pains are sometime worse than my all natural birth! I am so glad someone has said that lol! I thought I was being dramatic! I should be able to schedule my surgery in the next couple of weeks! It affects my day to day life at this point!
I am having my gallbladder removed on this Friday
