So sorry you are going through this! I ended up being stitched in 3 different places with my first delivery (including a 4th degree tear) so know how uncomfortable and painful it can be. The best thing I found for healing was to try and keep the area as dry as possible. So pat dry with a lint free pad (ended up using the boosters from the reusable nappies for this) after peri-bottling/bath etc and then just lying pants free to ‘air dry’ for as long as realistically possible. Also helps the stitches to stay in place. Hoping you recover and are pain free soon! Sending hugs x
I found with my first that the stitches felt tighter/more painful as they started to heal up, so it did get a bit worse before it got better. Hang in there and hopefully you start to feel better soon!
Definitely ask your midwife to check them out for you, as they can let you know if there’s any sign of infection. Mine took a good week to start feeling better, and now at 12 days pp I can sit much more comfortably and can’t really feel them anymore. Everything crossed for you that it starts to get more comfortable soon 🤞🏻
