Baby eating too much

My LB has always been bad about eating too much. He was eating 8 oz by three months every feeding, meaning every three hours basically. I took him to the doctor because he is NOT a chunky baby. He’s 30th percentile in weight, which I know a lot of people say percentiles don’t really matter, but for him to be eating that much you’d think he’d be 99th. They told me he’s fine, and they didn’t seem to care that he was eating this much. My goal was to ALWAYS solely breastfeed him, but my tits have been working overtime for so long, and he’s now drinking anywhere from 10-12 oz a feeding. I have to supplement formula. If I don’t feed him this much, he unconsolably cries for sometimes an hour. This kid is chugging 12 oz of milk every 3 sometimes 2 hours. I feel like I’m going to go back to the doctor soon and they’re just going to say “oh, well, he’s gaining weight so should be fine”. What do I do??

Baby purée

My baby seemed insatiable as well, and has been eating anywhere from 6 to 8 oz since about 3 months, once I started him on some baby puree like chicken and veggies, he's eating a little bit less I think it fills him up better maybe? Whatever it is that I'm doing, I must be doing something right because he seems better for it. Mine is also not a very chunky baby, which frustrates me because you would think as much as this kid eats he would be like the 110th percentile LOL

I know some families love to start introducing solids around three months. But I’d like to highlight that’s extremely normal for babies to start drinking more formula or breastmilk and clusterfeeding due to frequent growth spurts. I’m not sure if this is your first, but I personally would trust the advice of your pediatrician.

My baby has had 8oz since he was 3 months as well, rn we're having up to 8-12oz if he cries for more. My baby is in the 97% percentile though. If your baby seems fine by the pediatrician, I wouldn't get frustrated over that. Lil baby just knows what it wants and using it to grow 🤭
