Yeah it is. I think it's when the hormones are settling for the baby and their nipples look full. I don't think youre ment to press them and empty which can cause infection. They go down on their own
He’s two weeks old. Thank you both, that does make sense! I just don’t remember it with my first so thought something was wrong with him🙈
My first born had this and it was to do with my hormones passing to him, and gradually the breast tissue decreased x
May be worth mentioning it to midwife or health visitor whoever baby is under or even gp! Probably absolutely nothing to worry about my little boy had similar as a newborn when I had him and they told me it would go away on its own it was my hormones passing on to him through my breast milk
Likely what others have mentioned above. It's actually not unusual for babies to lactate or girl babies to bleed vaginally as the pregnancy hormones from your body pass into theirs. Keep an eye out for inverted nipples as they get older, but for the most part it's likely normal and just needs some monitoring and maybe ask your health visitor/doc.
How old? Their nipples and genitals are usually swollen for a couple of weeks after birth. I believe it’s hormonal.
