Won't stop standing in his cot!!

Hi ladies I recently started very gentle sleep training to move away from feeding to sleep for every single sleep. I was pleasantly surprised at how much improvement I saw within a few days. I'd pop the dummy in, put his blanket on him and sit on the side of the cot on the floor patting and singing. If he cried I'd revert to our usual feeding to sleep. He'd occasionally try to sit up and stand and I'd put him back down. In the last few days he's been doing it non stop and crying when I try stop him and so it feels like we've taken 10 steps back to feeding to sleep again. Any tips? I'm so demotivated I felt so pleased we were making progress with his sleep. I honestly feel like crying I'm having such a hard time

You probably don’t wanna hear this but.. I did exactly the same super gentle sleep training, it was going so well and he was even self settling. Then a cold come, or teething or regression, whatever you name it and he’d be straight back to square one again. So I’ve just given up with it and just cuddle or pat him to sleep now. I just think for some babies it doesn’t take much, others just need that bit more comfort and my LB is definitely that. It will get to a point they won’t need our help and they will be independent enough to do it in their own. But since I’ve accepted that it’s so much easier, I put so much stress on myself to try and get him to ‘self settle’ . Your Baby is probably just going through something I expect xx

@Alex thank you so much for your reply. His 4th tooth has just cut through so maybe that's what it is - he's also having crazy split nights every night so maybe some sort of developments/regression going on. Will you be waiting to return to the sleep training? I just wish they came with an update that told us when they were ready haha

My baby was so good, no feeding to sleep and self settle, all that went out the window with our first sleep regression and now I’m SO tired that I just feed to sleep 🥲🥲🥲🥲
