We introduced a potty when he was probably around 10 months old using it a seat to get used to the idea of it, we stuck him in pull ups when he showed an interest in using it at around 1.5 years, he decided he prefered the actual toilet as mummy and daddy use that 😂 so got him a step and seat thing, we started putting him in pants around about this time just in the house at first (expect lots of washing 😂) around 2 we would take him out the house in normal pants as well, he's fully trained now but we've been having some regression as 'the baby (his 2 month old sister) goes wee wees in her nappy' 😅 best advice I could give is once you've taken away the nappy don't give it back as it causes confusion, having them wear pants will probably get them to wee on a potty/toilet quicker as they will feel wet and gross more so than in a nappy, try not to ask if they need a wee and say we're going for a wee becuase they'll say no especially if they're doing something more fun ha, and use puppy pads to save car seats!
We got the oh crap potty training book ☺️ I had no idea either x
Don't worry! There's so many different ways of doing things, it can feel overwhelming. I built up potty training for our LG with a couple of books. Then on the first day I put her in pants trousers. She had A LOT of accidents the first day. But every time she did, I put her on the potty after and just 'accidents happen it's ok, next time the wee wee goes in the potty'. The second day I asked her every 20 mins if she needed to wee or poo and that reduced the number of accidents. She eventually got annoyed with me asking her so often (by day 4/5) and started telling me more consistently 😂 it'll be ok! Just don't try to force it if your little one isn't ready. If they are, then persevere 💪🏻 you'll probably need to some extra washing the first week, but it gets better!
