Mood swings in husband

My husband for the past year has had some major mood swings and refused to get checked out. He finally went to the doctor and got diagnosed with diabetes. Does diabetes affect one’s mood a lot? I’ve not been around people that have diabetes but my mom who is full time caring for my grandma says yes. But like my husbands low points are causing fights and he tells me things like “I don’t care about your day when you don’t care about mine” after I asked him how his day was but he never asks about mine. Or like the one time I tell him no I don’t want to be intimate in the bedroom he has a full blown meltdown about it and goes on and on about how I always say no and that our marriage is turning into a business transaction because he makes more. He has recently started communicating when he feels like he may snap and will let me know if he’s feeling short tempered and I’ll give him his space. I’m just getting to a point where this is really affecting me mentally and he doesn’t seem to care. I try communicating how I feel and it just turns into a fight about how I make him feel when I try to be so considerate.

I knew someone with diabetes like this idk if it’s related but maybe, he was very insensitive but not on purpose just like he didn’t think like that if he’s never been like this then I would assume it’s related

Have you tried turning him off and back on again? Cause he sounds broken as hell. In all seriousness though diabetes is technically a hormone imbalance so it could been contributing I guess, but that just might be who he is which is quite unfortunate by the sounds of it.

I know someone with diabetes and he is always grumpy and in a bad mood and doesn’t speak nicely to his family even infront of other people

Yes unfortunately it does, I work with someone who has diabetes and he is like this, depending on if his sugars are high/low he can have really awful mood swings

My partner is type 1 and having low blood sugar makes you feel REALLY hangry, imagine being hungry but like 10x worse. So if he's type 1 and has low sugar episodes then yes this is the main symptom for most people. However, it sounds to me he could potentially be suffering from mental health issues outside of this?
