Reflux and interrupted sleep

My baby is now 8 weeks and I’m now really trying to put him down in his bassinet more. The midwife was rather judgey at his last appointment that we were co sleeping. But honestly I’ve tried a few nights now putting him down, as he’s now on thickener and omeprazole. I wait over 30 minutes etc. Yet every night he’s grunting and writhing around in discomfort making noises and barely sleeping, it’s every couple of minutes. Does anyone have any advice or words or encouragement at all, does this get better? Both him and I are sleeping less than when he was on me. Bub is breastfed and he did have a tongue tie released a week after birth.

Are you sure its the reflux vs active sleep or gas?

What milk is L0 on?

I think it’s the reflux as I can hear it come up and he arches his back etc, I did also hear him pass wind so could be that on top. Bub is exclusively breast fed so I’m wondering whether a further visit to a lactation consultant could be in order, he did also have a tongue time released a week after birth.

Yes could be air etc. I’d have a. Look at position first. 💩 ok?

He poops frequently but has had a few mucus/diarrhoea which the midwife said could be a potential allergy but nothing too serious. Again they’re not fussed by much as he’s putting on weight.

Just keep an eye on this. My two have had CMPA and both had reflux-one silent and one horrendous normal reflux. Both put on weight etc so I would continue to look out for this x

Commenting as I’m in the exact same position! My son will only sleep on my chest upright

@Lizzy it does get easier-I promise

@Gem it’s so hard 😩 I said I’d never cosleep and here we are! I just want him to not choke every 5 seconds When did it get better for you?

Following as I suspect my LO to have the same

Also going through the same, my little one is 9 weeks and still won’t sleep for more than an hour or so own his own as his reflux wakes him and he just grunts, clears his throat and gags until he is held upright again. Tried Gaviscon and it made him constipated so going to try and get on omeprazole. We have been told it may be CMPA but reflux has been just as bad on non dairy formula as it was when breastfeeding and on dairy formula.
