@Simone does your 3 year old get on with it okay?? My son will be 3 in August x
To be honest, it made my son’s room feel smaller! It depends really, how big is their room? We got a bunk bed for my son so he had room to play underneath but it made the room feel so much smaller, plus it’s bloody hard work changing bedding 😆
I got my Nov 19 baby a mid sleeper about a year ago because my June 22 baby decided he could climb out of the cot on his own 😅🙃 So they share a room, my 2.5 yo in the cabin bed and the 5 yo in the mid sleeper. It works well for us.
Your children are exactly the same age as mine, I live in a 2 bed flat and was debating this aswell and so many people were telling me not to at risk of the youngest falling out and that bunkbeds aren’t suitable until over the age of 6 etc, my daughter turned 6 a month ago and my boy is 2, 3 in July, I’ve had the bunk beds for a year and just let my son have the bottom bunk as he was in a single bed anyways as he outgrew the toddler bed extremely quick and my oldest has the top bunk and she knows if she needs to get down to come down facing the bed so she doesn’t slip and they’ve been absolutely fine, it’s made so much more room for toys and wardrobes etc, it created a whole space for them to be able to play on the floor with their toys x
@Alicia Yes, he’s absolutely fine. He’s only just turned 3, so was in there from 2 and a half - I’ve just put a rail up for him so he doesn’t fall out x
Got a nearly 6yo and 3.5yo and they have been sharing the bunk bed for a year now. We have the Ikea Kura bunk bed so the bottom one is on the floor.
I set up bunk beds towards the end of last year for the same reasons - my daughter is 5 and my son is 3 x
