@Maria that would be cool!
Are you looking for functional plants or aesthetic plants? For functional I’d say you can plant something you use a lot of in your kitchen like tomatoes or chives (good beginner plant). For aesthetic I’d say maybe see what flowers are native to your area and plant some of those to give the buttery and bumblebees some respite during the summer
Herbs! Most of the common ones grow super fast and are easy to grow
I would look up what gardening zone you’re in! What would flourish outdoors there then go from there but I would do leafy plants maybe a small trellis and flowers only because I want a small greenhouse for veggies and fruits lol sunflowers would be so cool though I’ve always wanted a row of tall sunflowers at my house!
Flowers are a fun low maintenance way to get into gardening. I’d suggest starting with just flowers plus there pretty to look at 😊🌸🌷🌻🌹
I would recommend getting perennial plants as they return every year also suggest get cercis canadensis tree they are beautiful and always such a great front garden.
All of the above! Look into what wildflowers are good for pollinators in your area 🩷🌸
Wildflowers are great, pretty, easy and encourage insect life! But we love planting veggies, I've got a couple of blueberry and strawberry bushes that don't need much maintenance and we usually plant a few veg as well. We always do pumpkins and I'm looking forward to our daughter being a bit more interested this year! She 'helped' with planting last year e.g. made a mess but this year she understands so much! I pointed out the blueberry bushes to her and now she inspects them to check whether they've grown any flowers yet 😊
I know absolutely nothing about gardening but I've been seeing stuff like grow your own tea garden/spices garden on pinterest lately and that's what I'd do I think 😆 Like saffron, its both a spice and a pretty flower!
Veggies are easier than fruit. Easy growers are peppers and tomatoes and thicker hardy herbs.
If you really want a beginner gardening tip with flowers you can do chaos gardening which is basically mixing a bunch of flower seeds and throwing it all over the area you want and the flowers grow randomly it looks like a summer field.
