We have only just discovered that if she is awake when we put her in or need to go anywhere I need to sit in the middle in the back with her favourite toys and the pink pony club music video on my phone or the happy song🙃 if I have to take the kids anywhere by myself she has to be asleep when I put her in or extremely tired with pink noise xx
Mine was fine in it when he was first born... Then it seemed like he just decided to hate it one day and always screamed!! We've recently taken the newborn insert out and omg he's absolutely fine in the car now 😅 I feel so bad as I didn't realise we had to take it out so soon 🙈 so if you haven't done so already, maybe check that!
Oh I didn't know that thank you best check x lol
Check the newborn insert. Mine hated it as he approached the weight/height limit and seems to be absolutely fine since it was taken out.
I didn’t know that either. I’ll give ours a check too
My first baby hated it - when she got to around 1.5 years suddenly didn’t mind it anymore and stopped all the crying however second baby isn’t too bad, if he’s been fed and is settled then will manage short journeys fine
My baby absolutely hates it, it makes going anywhere so stressful as she cries so hard and ends up gasping and sweating. If we time it right with naps it can be ok but for most of the time it's hell. I've taken out the insert and have loads of toys, her soother, sing her songs and if that doesn't work then I use baby sensory videos on youtube. I think she just doesn't like being strapped in and sitting down as she's the same outside of the car and likes to be held and moving around all the time
Our eldest used to scream bloody murder in the car - I think because she was a COVID baby so we didn't go anywhere so she never got used to it! Could you bring the seat inside and practice sitting baby in it while you've got music on / straight after a feed so they're chilled and sleepy just so they get used to it and see it as a safe place? We have a mirror in the car he likes looking in too and when they're bigger you can get toys that they kick too which might help. It's probably just quite jarring to be plonked in a seat with nothing fun to look at and no familiar faces either
Yes mine screams. I have just moved her to the front passenger seat and turned my airbag off. It is legal as long as the airbag is off although a risk it's not quite as safe in the back. I have decided to take that risk because she is happier next to me where she can see me when I'm driving and I can put her dummy back in her mouth
If my little boy has been fed just before he is usually ok but sometimes he can really kick off (12 weeks old now). I sometimes put him in the front and turn off airbags if I know it’s going to a longer car journey x he especially hates a red light 🤦🏽♀️
Another one who’s LO hated the newborn insert! The second he was big enough to take it out he was fine in the car. Don’t get me wrong sometimes he cries and wants to come out but generally he’s a happy camper in there now
My little one does. I think she doesn’t like being strapped in
