I want to stop breastfeeding but baby has mild dairy intolerance. I am wondering if i can try Kendamil Goat as a follow on milk.
I tried giving him CMPA prescribed milk but it smells awful and he doesn’t like it at all

I personally haven't but am in a lot of groups that talk about this and a lot of people say it's helped them and is a really common reccomendation. Sorry it's not presonal experience but I've seen it discussed a lot so thought I'd chime in since there's no other responses so far just in case. Good luck x

Kendamil goat still contains cows milk proteins it just has less than cows milk formula but more than cmpa prescribed formula if that makes sense? so is a bit easier to digest it would depend on the severity of little ones allergy as to wether or not it would spark a reaction!
You can add natural vanilla essence to cmpa prescribed milk to improve the taste (it is recommended by paediatricians and health visitor) I have to do it with nutramigen that my boys on it smells vile but he’ll drink it with the vanilla, he had a reaction to goat so we’re powering through with the stinky formula🤣 x

I haven't tried goat milk formula myself, but i’ve heard some parents have had success with it for CMPA babies, so it might be worth a shot! just keep an eye on how your little one reacts, you know? this is what the 'Heal App' mentioned… hope it helps!
"It's understandable to want to find a suitable alternative for your baby, especially if they're not responding well to the prescribed formula. Goat milk formulas, like Kendamil Goat, can be a potential option for some babies with cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA), but it's important to note that goat milk still contains some similar proteins that may trigger reactions in sensitive infants.
Before making the switch, I recommend discussing this with your healthcare provider to ensure it's safe for your baby, especially since they have a history of dairy intolerance. In the meantime, you might also consider trying different hypoallergenic formulas that are designed to be more palatable and easier for babies to accept.

Thank you, that’s very interesting! I might try both options to see what works
