My husbands brother said it sometimes gives false alarms it scared them 2 times saying the baby wasn’t breathing when the baby was fine

I have it for my 18month old and 8 week old and could not be without it. Definitely gives me peace of mind throughout the night. With my first I didn’t sleep for the first few nights terrified he would stop breathing once we got the owlet I definitely started to sleep better and wasn’t checking him every 5 minutes

100% what @Erika said. Our midwife and pediatrician don’t recommend them for the sheer anxiety and false alarms. But I have also heard other moms who absolutely love them. Personally we decided they’re expensive and we planned on following all the advice to reduce the risk of SIDs such as the use of a fan, pacifier etc.

I’d recommend the snuzza hero md over the owlet sock! It’s a little device that clips to their nappy and monitors their tummy moving and vibrates/beeps if they haven’t breathed in a certain amount of time It’s also the only sleep device approved by the lullaby trust I think x

We have one for our premature baby when she came home and is the only way I got any sleep. It has alarmed 3 times, each time she was having trouble with her breathing and needing repositioning. We would not have heard her or been able to tell she was in trouble, so yes, we wouldn't be without ours. It does have connection issues if the WiFi is a bit dodgy, but I can put up with that. Eta - the owlet is considered a medical device. It pretty much read the same as the hospital equipment when we were in overnight - although it stayed on her foot much better!

I love mine. Our daughter has a breathing problem she only has one airway, 13 weeks old it gives us a peace of mind and able to actually fall asleep knowing shes monitored... i cant imagine not having it. Also being able to see her wake times if shes in light or deep sleep get o2 levels when shes stuffy its truly a breath of fresh air. We were worried because we read so much hate on it but decided to try it for ourselves. I believe its either a love or hate thing. We never had problems or false alarms its been accurate thus far!

Our owlet is great for us because we need it more-so for her oxygen monitoring, our pediatrician said get the snuzza if we are worried about SIDS. Both are great!

I used it’s for a month and half and then one night randomly, it decided to disconnect from the base @ 4am and used the same tone as a emergency alert, so I obviously panicked, and little guy was fine. I reconnected, it disconnected again. This continued for 3 nights, it’d work all night then randomly disconnect. (He wouldn’t kick it off or anything, it’d be exactly where it was when I put it on, I’d slightly fidget it, suddenly connected) I gave up after that. BUT i plan to use it again when he’s moved to his own room, since it does come with extra sizes of the actual socks.

OHH and if you happen to have an HSA, you can buy it through those usually! In my girl math head, that made it free, lol

Its helped us a lot. I plan to have one for all our our babies

we love ours, i would rather 10 false alarms than miss something. I don’t get anxiety needing to check the app as the base station alarm is pretty loud and would wake me.

We've been using it for 6 weeks now, and it definitely gives you peace of mind. I still always wake and check on him but it helps me feel that little more settled. It has gone off twice but I was awake when they happened. Little man had some reflux and chocked a little so although it was alarming to hear it made us feel more at ease, also for what to expect noise wise ☺️

I 100% recommend it. I believe it saved my daughter’s life. The other week it told me her oxygen was low 80 then kept decreasing to 69 I got her and tried to wake her up it took some time but after I did it went back to normal. I think she went into a very deep sleep. I put it on her every night.

I didnt care for it because of the footie pajamas and trying to put it on when going to bed. I like the breathing band with the Nanit system better

We use the Eufy sock and it’s so much cheaper and works just as great!! I’ve never had any false alarms.

I had one false alarm of low oxygen when my baby was a month old. It goes off when my baby is really active and has it on because it has difficulty getting readings when there is movement. Also went off often because apparently it has connection issues if you put the base too close to electronics (like the monitor). BUT I'm so glad I got it because it went off when my daughter had a seizure a stopped breathing briefly. It helped us know it was happening and got her care. Alerted us there was a problem.

No.

We’ve been using ours for 6 months with no issue. I can’t go without it. Gives me peace of mind!

I think the connection issues are normal for any electronic, but I’ve never had a false alarm. And even if I did, I’d rather be over checking on my baby than not checking enough.

1000%! When our LO was first born it was too big and would go off every minute (beware it is VERY loud) But this allowed us to not rely on it too much. But now we use it more for a guide of if she’s awake, in a light or deep sleep (helpful when trying to put her down in her crib). The peace of mind is needed also when you wanna just want a good nights sleep!

No. Drove me nuts with the “connection issues” whenever baby moved in her sleep. Woke up baby and us so many times.
