Mom burnout

My oldest is almost 9 and my youngest is 2. I became a sahm mom when my oldest was 1, when my second was born (who is 7.5) and have been ever since. I love getting this time with them, but I feel now more than ever that I’ve lost myself. I have no hobbies. No interest in doing anything just for me anymore. All my free time is taken over by appointments, weekend events for my older boys. I wfh now as well so if I’m not working, it’s chores and errands, too. I spend my free minutes staring at a wall because I stare at a computer most of the day. I’m drowning. I’ve tried to pick things up but I’m constantly interrupted or too tired to keep going.

I'm struggling with the same lately. Also wfh with one day in office. Two kids. Little motivation for work or hobbies. Gotta force myself cause I'm in a rut and easy to give into the tiredness. The last 2 years straight (working out with my husband, tennis lessons with friends) I was active and that helped a ton- I need to get over this depressive hump. It was still lonely at times but this is worst. I think you have to keep trying... just anything. I'm trying to replace doom scrolling with reading, signed up for a painting class. My husband is gung ho to help me by getting back into working out together- him too, signing up for basketball and pickleball with buddies and trying to focus less on his job. I caved and got a cleaning lady- more fun time with the kids instead of chores. I've become a recluse and not been a good friend to my friends, the more i avoid people the less they reach out- I really gotta pick up the phone and reach out. I did meet a cool chick on this app and we've been texting.

look for a hobby or fitness class once or twice a week and leave boys home w Dad for an hr or 2 and you go and dedicate some time to your hobbies. As a sahm I have dance classes twice a week- one paid one on Tuesdays w a dance school and a free one on Fridays held at the club, it’s also my night to dress up go out and meet some friends or my friends meet me there for some drinks, 2w in a row now I’ve had friends meet me there for some drinks and a lil dancing…I’m on level 2.5 about to level up in a couple weeks to level 3 I’ve been dancing for 2yrs now. Hubby has bowling Wednesday nights that’s his hobby. You have to carve that time out for yourself and actually tell him “I’ve booked a Pilates/spin/yoga/heels/pole/Zumba/salsa/boxing class for Tuesdays at 6.30 I’ll be doing that from now on. The men won’t offer. We have to take that opportunity ourselves. He can’t find those lessons for me and make me go, I have to do that for myself. Good luck Xx all my friends have a hobby they go to
