Dummies

My baby is five weeks old and I’m thinking of giving them a dummy but I’m exclusively breastfeeding. I’m worried that baby will stop breastfeeding. Has anyone had any problems with breastfeeding after introducing a dummy? Also, how do you sterilise dummies, especially when out and about. And how often do you sterilise it?

I gave my exclusively breastfed a dummy when he 2 weeks old and thankfully he didn’t get nipple confusion. He only really had it for sleep and when we were travelling in the car so I didn’t have to worry about sterilising when out too much but I would usually carry 2-3 dummies just incase one did drop.

Unlikely to have nipple confusion with a dummy. Its more likely they just won't want it haha. I don't sterilize mine often. Will occasionally toss it in the sterilizer with a bunch of other stuff. Mostly I just wash it
