Advice needed pls :(

I have MAJORLY fucked up and mindlessly ate a pack of crisps that had milk in them :( can I give calpol to help with baby’s pain??? I feel like the worst mum in the world. It was such a careless thing to do and I should be used to checking all packets by now. I’m so upset with myself and angry I’m seeing my baby suffer for me being so dumb.

Feed baby asap and try and delay feeding (if you can) for as long as you can. The milk protein peaks in your milk at 2 hours post consumption and is usually gone in 6-12 hours. You could offer calpol or piriton (if baby has been prescribed it) to help and keep feeding as your milk will help baby heal. I didn't this too. Never checked the caramel drizzle on my starbucks 🫠x

It was a mistake! Accidents happen. There may have been very little milk in there. Do you have any frozen milk? You could always give that and pump and dump. How quickly do you see the symptoms in your baby? I ask because keep wondering if mine even has an intolerance anymore.

@Samantha it was yesterday I ate it and today he’s been really suffering with grunting and disrupted sleep and constant kicking his legs like he’s in pain. I didn’t even realise until today I checked the packet, it’s so annoying!!! :( xx

@Liz such a silly mistake though!!baby refuses bottles now he just wants booby :( I do try occasionally but he just cries when I give bottle. Got a stash of frozen milk for no reason lol. It was yesterday I ate it and was completely fine until today just constant grunting and kicking his legs, crying if I put him down etc, I hope he does grow out of it soon I miss my dairy milk 🥲

Aw, that sounds awful for both of you. I hope it passes soon! But stop beating yourself up- it's just a temporary setback and it's so easy to forget to read every ingredient.

Pls don't beat yourself up over this, it happens! My baby has suspected cmpa and I've accidentally given her milk a few times now 😬. Even nursery did a few weeks ago, her nappies were not great for 24hrs lol

I did this when baby was around 4 months. He was unsettled only for one night. Next night was fine and during the day. I continued feeding throughout because I only investigated what I ate AFTER he started grunting and being unsettled in his sleep. He will be okay you haven’t eaten much
