She'll use a spoon for her breakfast but nothing else and is starting to use a fork but half the time she has it in one hand and is eating with the other 😅😅
@Heather mine does the same as yours 🤣 Mine can't feed herself with cutlery independently yet but I can see the cogs whirring in her head and she attempts it. Trouble is using your hands is quicker 😂
Hey @Sara which cutlery brand do you use please? 😊 I've tried a few diff types but my girl hasn't got the hang of it yet and still eats with her hands which I'm fine with. But when trying to use cutlery she can't pick up the food properly and then gets frustrated 😔
He’s pretty good with a spoon and fork now. But if it’s something he really loves or he’s super hungry, the cutlery gets launched so he can shovel it in faster with his hands 😂🤷🏻♀️
Nope, mine will only be spoon-fed. And LO won't even use his hands anymore as he hates touching anything wet or squishy 😕
No she just chucks cutlery, plates, bowls. I even got the suction ones and she gets them off 😅 last night she used her spoon like it was a drum kit. I did worry that it wasn’t normal and my mum said none of me and my siblings used cutlery at that age and we don’t eat with our hands now 😂. I’m guessing it just comes it time hopefully.
Don’t force it, they will use it when they feel like it. Just offer it and make sure they watch you eat with cutlery, they will soon start mimicking when they ready x
My LO can use cultery and has definitely gained confidence in using it since starting nursery. He will use both spoon and fork, but also happy to use his hands and, in general, does a bit of both at every meal.
