Maybe he keeps finding himself at the edge, could you put some bed rails on?
@Natalya we’ve tried this but it’s like he knows and as soon as he’s in bed he wakes up n moves then falls straight back sleep on the floor
@Izzy not a chance in hell will I put bed rails on his bed ever again! They’re incredibly dangerous and shouldn’t be sold. He’s been sleeping in this same bed for over a year no problem so I don’t seem why the ‘edge’ would be a problem now
I’m wasn’t aware of any risks of using them but there really wasn’t any need to bite my head off. Don’t ask for suggestions then be passive aggressive when you don’t like someone’s suggestion ☺️
@Izzy I didn’t bite your head off? I simply said never again would I use them because they’re dangerous ? Although welcome, I also didn’t ask for suggestions I asked if anyone else was experiencing it 😅
@Katie there was no need to be so rude to Izzy! If you don’t like the answers don’t post. Simple as
@Shannon how was I rude? It’s a comment, you read it how you want to take it, in no way did I say it in a rude way .
I haven’t moved Jaxon to an actual bed yet- he hasn’t tried climbing out of his cot, and being honest, at least half the time ends up in with me anyway 🤦♀️ so not experiencing it myself but I know I have seen others who are, i just can’t remember if it was on here or elsewhere. I reckon Milo just absolutely loves his new room and so is expressing it by hugging the floor to sleep! On another note, hope you’re all managing to settle & enjoy your new home xx
@Beccy I did originally wonder if it was because of the carpet as his old room was hard floors but the carpet in the house is very squishy and thick. We are thank you, other than the odd few boxes and one of the spare rooms looking like a bombs gone of (that door is always closed because I’m just not ready to tackle everything we’ve chucked in there 🤣) it’s finally starting to feel like a home ! And as a big positive I’ve FINALLY finished decorating Milo’s room so just waiting for his birthday presents to organise it then onto the next room 😅 1 room down 9 to go 🤦🏼♀️ come back in 5 years n I might be almost finished 🤣
Just wondering if anyone knew anything further on bed rails being dangerous, as I hadn’t heard that before, and would likely have looked in to them for future use (daughter is still in cot atm)?
Hope Milo settles back into his bed soon, it might be to do with the move and there's a lot changed for him, though I know you would have prepared him as much as you could. Can't really help as my little boy is still in his cot and will be for a few months, before going to convert it to a cot bed. I hadn't heard about bed rails being dangerous though. I'm guessing the same doesn't apply if it is a cot side a bit like a bed rail (it's made of wood) it came supplied with the cot
@Katie so glad you feel like you are getting there, but i can imagine the decorating feels never ending! Jaxon occasionally lays down out of protest and i have noticed if he does it in kitchen it’s short lived as it’s wooden floors, as is most of the living room & my bedroom; but his bedroom has a lovely thick, lush carpet & he does it much longer in there! Also, it’s been quite warm recently, so that could also be something to do with it being cooler lower down? As long as he’s sleeping & happy then I honestly wouldn’t worry about it! PS- i absolutely understand about your spare room, I don’t have any spare rooms, tbh our house is far too small, but I have a Monica cupboard (if you don’t watch friends that won’t mean anything, in which case imagine your spare room squished into a walk in cupboard 😆- shut firmly with all good intentions every week to tackle it but i somehow never get round to it, lol) xx
@Becca there’s 2 reasons bed rails are dangerous. 1 it’s a suffocation risk because they tend to move a small amount with a bit of force which can lead to LO falling between mattress and rail getting caught and unable to breathe Or 2 what I personally witness with Milo of him standing up holding onto it and going flying over the edge . All it takes if for them to land the wrong way or hit the wrong thing and that fall could be fatal
How about a floor bed would he prefer this like maybe he likes sensation of being grounded x

@Nimo he’s had a floor bed before and he never actually slept on it he just slept on the floor next to it using the mattress as a big pillow if you get what I mean 😅 that’s why we moved to an actual bed in the first place
@Katie you have done really well to get so much sorted in such a short space of time, so definitely just leave the unimportant stuff, it will always be there & you will get to it when you get to it! You will have to keep us posted on Milo’s sleeping arrangements, i am fully invested!xx
@Katie it is maybe it's because the floor its cooler, plus it's probably just more comfortable. He may eventually decide to stay in his bed himself. I didn't know thank you, I will have a look. I can't remember how high the side is but our son likes climbing so it will probably be safer without. It's not that far to fall if he did go onto the floor
@Katie awwww, he looks so happy!! I bet that’s why he was on the floor then, the heat! And i feel you on the being little shits, Jaxon’s tantrums have hammed up awfully over the past few days, it’s so draining, isn’t it? I bet my neighbours think I am horrible, all I have done is shout “no” or tell him off, or they have heard his constant tantrums. The newborn stage was such a breeze compared to this!xx
@Beccy he most certainly loves the fan so the heats definitely getting to him I’m honestly surprised our neighbour having called child services on us 🤣🤣 basically 3 weeks in and the only time they’ve even seen us is when Milo’s been screaming for nothing and we’ve been telling him shut up 🤣 I’m pretty sure they’ve never seen him happy and with the heat he’s just getting worse. I most definitely miss the newborn stage!
My little boy does the same, we just let him fall asleep wherever and then put him in bed
