ill baby- food options

Hi all, I have an 11 month old and he’s got very poorly since yesterday he’s refusing bottles and I’m worried about fluids. Any ideas for foods for him that he might like? He’s had strawberry puree and yoghurt and an egg so far today and some kiwi.

I would stick to low effort meals in case he doesn’t eat them like tomato pasta etc Has he got a sore throat? Cucumber things like that could be nice on his throatn

Fruit with high water content Or even ice lollies

When my 21 month old is poorly he will only eat Weetabix .porridge or toast x

My lg is the same she’s 15 months old and has a really bad viral infection causing a sore throat I made just plain pasta as it’s soft and has water in it from cooking. Xx

Ice lollies are very good way of getting fluids into sick children. Fruit in high water content such as watermelon as this is also soft, raspberries, strawberries, soft peaches/nectarines. If little one has had a stomach bug stay away from bananas as the high content of potassium can cause more sickness (found this out the hard way with a refluxy baby). Vegetable such as cucumbers are also good for fluids. Plain foods like bread sticks, toast, pasta. Chicken soup if you have time to make it. Juice mixed with water to keep the fluids and sugars up as well x
