Feeling so low

I have a 2.5yr old boy and my 9 week old baby girl. My toddler was always a ‘miserable’ baby, always crying and I thought this time would be different. But this baby is the same and I can’t help but think that it’s me and I’m doing something wrong to make them this way. I feel so embarrassed meeting up with people and just generally going out. Sometimes whilst playing with her I’ll get the best smiles and all of a sudden 5mins later and she’ll be inconsolable crying again. Feb baby cries in the car, buggy, being put down, sling, fussy when breastfeeding. Before she falls asleep from rocking, patting or buggy etc I have to endure nearly 30mins of crying before she falls asleep for 20mins. I don’t know the point to this post other than to vent and just say how sorry I am for being a bad mummy. Obviously my toddler is fine now after about the first year. I love both of my children more than anything but just wish I could make them happier babies.

Could they possibly have reflux/colic? My baby is 9 weeks today and I couldn't put him down for long yesterday at all. We have omeprazole from the GP. Is she squirming, kicking legs, sicky? Bubbles at the mouth, little choking noises at all? Xx

They may have/had colic. I use dentinox/infacol and it never makes much difference. She squirms and kicks legs but none of the other things.

Have you tried gripe water?

Yes gripe water too 😔

Have you had an oral assesment done? My baby boy was like you have described. Turned out he had a tongue tie which was affecting him. Since having it cut he is like a different baby xx

She did have a tongue tie which was caught late but has it cut over 2 weeks ago and it gave a slight relief but not as much as I’d hoped

I’m always a message away I know how you feel xx

Did you get given oral exercises to do? How long has it been since the cut? My son improved instantly then it went back to fussy etc - scar tissue can take weeks to heal. It’s now been nearly a month since his and he’s improved massively again! I have an email with lots of information and oral exercises on if you would like me to pass it on. If you’re still having issues I would 1000% have your baby checked again as they can re attach xx
