Baby doesn’t ever want dad

My son is 10 months old and I thought this would be better as he got older. My husband is amazing with him and is an awesome parents, but the second he picks up my son, my son gets hysterical. It’s so hard for him bc it feels like our son always rejects him. Idk how to help or make our son more comfortable. Is there a reason this constantly happens?

Babies have a preferred parent are you a stay at home mom? My baby did that when she was younger and still does that. I have to stay out of sight when my husband has her and she is just fine. If she sees me she starts crying. Instead of handing him off to your husband can you try being on the floor with him and then switching while he is playing?

My daughter likes my husband more than me lol he's gone a lot so I think that's why

I was in this same situation for a while until I forced my husband to spend the entire day with the baby. It was hard because the first two/three days she cried but now it has gotten much better she goes to him willingly

I say this in the most motherly way possible. You have to leave that baby with his daddy without stepping in. Go do your nails, get a massage, and a drink... get out of their business, and trust me, it will be better for them 😅

@🧿🤰🏾🥰 period. You just have to push through it. You know baby is safe with dad so it’s just breaking down that little barrier because he hasn’t been the steady caregiver.

My husband works usually 10 hour shifts 6 days a week. Only Sunday off. Sometimes he gets Saturday too tho. Anyways my kids have always been very familiar with him even when they were doing stranger danger with grandparents and friends. But I do get it tho because he will literally say this is my job the kids are your job so if that’s how it has been at your house it makes sense to me how this could happen. Basically I would just sneak off like you’re dropping him off at daycare for a few hours and I’ll bet when you come back they’re the best of friends. He knows that’s his daddy he’s just trying you.
