Baby bath seat

My 10 month old is outgrowing her shnuggle bath. She can sit fairly well but can’t get into sitting position on her own yet. Instead of getting the shnuggle toddler bath, is a bath seat any good? Any recommendations especially any ones that can be folded and stored away?

Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It's great to hear that your 10-month-old is growing and developing! A bath seat can be a good option as it provides support and safety while allowing your baby to sit up during bath time. Look for a bath seat that has a sturdy base, non-slip features, and is designed for your baby's age and weight. One popular option is the Summer Infant My Bath Seat, which is foldable and easy to store. Just ensure that the seat is used in a safe manner, always supervising your baby during bath time. Have you considered how much space you have for storage, or do you have a specific type of bath seat in mind?"

If she sits well I'd get a non slip mat for your bath, keep the water level low and put her in. You're right there to help her sit up and lie down, she's very unlikely to slip without you being able to prevent it when the bath mat is in! Mine loves to lie back in the bath and kick around and has done since she was sitting 😊

@Rachel When your little girl is lying in the bath, how high does the water reach? Does water get into her ears? I might try the bath mat but she does like to suddenly kick off and throw herself back. Does your girl flip over to her front in the water? 😕

Yeah she gets water in her ears a little, she doesn't mind that though! She does flip over sometimes but we have done swimming lessons so she knows not to put her face under water. If she didn't I think she would have learned quickly! At this age I'm literally sat next to her in the bath at all times, literally one time in nearly 2 years she slipped and her face went under but I had her up within less than a second. If she threw herself back as long as she's not at the end of the bath, the bathmat would be plenty of cushioning for her head. I always have her sideways, facing the same way I do(if I ever get the chance for one lol), facing towards the taps so not much to bump on, just a splash if she goes backwards. We do it maybe 4/5 inches deep. It might take some getting used to but really you don't even have to lie them back, I rinse off her hair with the shower and a little watering can lol and she loves that too!

@Rachel She loves to splash the bath water so I’d love to give her more freedom in the tub. Thanks for your help! Very useful. I’ll look into the bath mats. 😊

You're welcome 😊 It's worth a try! Even if it's not quite right for her right now it will still come in handy when she's older !

I’d recommend a non slip bath mat, both of mine used that from around 6 months when they were confidently sitting up. Made washing them easier too!
