Feeding help!
My little one is ebf and was taking expressed milk well from a bottle until about 13 weeks and then started refusing completely and then a few weeks later is refusing one breast so has now been pretty much exclusively feeding from one side.
Still gaining weight well so it’s not a real concern in that way but I’m so drained.
He is waking still to feed every 2/3 hours over night and I would love to be able to get him back to taking a bottle so my partner can do a few feeds just so I can rest a little!
Does anyone have any advice on how to get him taking it again?
We have tried 5 different types of bottle, all different temperatures and just can’t figure out how to get him back to it.
i’m not sure about only feeding from one boob, however my little girl is EBF and randomly started refusing bottles at 4 months even tho she happily took them from birth, i tried everything, bottles, teats, temperature, position, my partner doing it, open cups, syringes and nothing worked and it was sooo stressful! i spoke to a HV and she said the best thing to do is just leave baby for ATLEAST 8 hours with someone you can trust, they are not clever enough to starve themselves. I left my little girl with my best friend for the day and she eventually took the bottle after 5 hours from her last feed, when she realised i wasn’t around she happily took the bottle! since then she has happily taken a bottle from my partner and everyone else as long as im not there!! she just prefers the boob and knows if i’m there then she will get the boob in the end so just being stubborn!! i was very hesitant to leave her but it was the best thing i did for her and for me!! you’re not alone xxx
