Baby only cries with inlaws

My 7month old is a very happy smiley baby with everyone except my MIL/FIL. My MIL is very difficult and has been quite nasty to me in the past leading to me getting anxiety everytime we meet up. I used to think it was a coincidence our baby would cry everytime she sees them but can she pick up on my anxiety to the point she will turn the minute she sees them, whether it's my house or theirs? I even take her to meet them midweek so they can see her despite my anxiety surrounding them. Could she be reacting to their "matter of factness"? They tell her they love her but don't overly play or interact with her for an extended period of time. Hubby is wondering what the issue is as its very obvious. Thanks
