Sorry, don’t believe it is normal or not expected for a child to sleep through the night. It is a skill that needs teaching and you can still benefit from a sleep consultant. You would be surprised how much we learn from I’ve done it and my baby slept all night from 9 months old (12hours) and from 3 months old already slept 8-9 hours straight. I know people have different opinions and that is mine, you don’t need to suffer with sleepless nights “ because they are little and are still learning and we shouldn’t expect much from them”. That can change!
Tô my point of view, he has a sleep association and he will fight when you try to change it. The sleep consult will check how much he eats during the day to make sure he is not also waking up hungry a bit and won’t settle if he is hungry or if he is on top of it creating a sleep association. 😘
It’s not that I’m expecting him to regularly sleep through the night but at least once would be great😂😅 He eats well as he’s at nursery (where I work) 4 days a week and they log everything he eats, plus he has a big tea/dinner when we get home. I reckon it’s an association I just don’t know how to stop it.. every time we’ve tried dropping the oz in bottles he either wakes up more during the night or won’t go back to sleep🫠
Expecting a child to regularly through the night at not even 2 years old is a bit much. I know it’s hard but there’s not much you can do about it it’s really normal for our lil babies to still need our comfort and reassurance at night at this age. x
