Sugar intake and breastfeeding

Ok so maybe I'm overthinking, but I've researched into sugar intake and breastfeeding and it says it can affect baby cognitively. Since breastfeeding, I have been eating soooo many sugary things because I'm hungry all the time, or for a midnight snack etc and now I've read stuff that's worrying me! Am I overthinking 😳

if it gives you any peace of mind - in pakistan new moms are intentionally given more sugar to eat for the first 8 weeks because they need the instant energy boost. I don’t usually eat any sugar but my mom insisted that I use it postpartum and so far I seem to tolerate it well.

I would however suggest that you increase your calorie intake with healthy fats. don’t worry, you won’t gain any weight from them as long as they are good fats: all sorrs of nuts and seeds, ghee, and bone broth!

@Aisha thank you! His is reassuring. I feel awful that maybe I've caused problems to my baby's development
