Breast milk is always nutritious for baby tho nothing more healthy and nutritious other than breastmilk.

@piYa my first baby isn’t gaining that much weight and i exclusively breastfed

If you eat healthy and full fat meals he will surely gain weight

I give formula during the day and breastfeed during the night. My baby is very big , shes 3 months but she wears clothes from 9-12 months. So yeah it is working for me!

Everyone is different, just because your baby isn't huge doesn't mean your milk isn't nutritious

I do something similar but to keep baby’s interested in their breastfeeds I always offer breast first and top ups with formula. They have a good BF when they want and other times barely anything. We were medically advised to do this to ensure appropriate weight gain though, you could seek medical advice if you are worried about weight or nutrition too. Give what you’d like to do a good try it will either work or no loss in trying it if doesn’t work.

I breastfeed during the day and exclusively bottle-feed formula at night, and my baby is doing really well with this routine. In the meantime, I’m working on building up my breast milk supply. Once the formula runs out, my baby will transition to being fully breastfed, while still being bottle-fed expressed milk during the night. Breast milk is incredibly nutritious, and interestingly, a baby’s saliva actually sends signals to the mother’s body to adjust milk production based on the baby’s needs. Even if you’re worried your little one isn’t getting enough, the best thing to do is monitor their nappy output. Regular wet nappies are a good sign that they are getting enough milk.

Also, keep an eye on their bowel movements. My midwife explained that breastfeeding tends to encourage more frequent poos, whereas formula can sometimes cause slight constipation. It’s completely normal for a formula-fed baby to go a couple of days without a bowel movement, so there’s usually no need for concern.
