Bath time

Hi! My baby is almost 8 months. We usually give her a bath 1-2 times a week and she loved it at first. All of a sudden the past 3 times she has screamed immediately once I put her in the tub and she is crying and attempting to get out. She started crawling around this time and pulling herself to stand up. We haven’t changed her bath time routine and added new toys. Has anyone else gone through this? Any suggestions?

Is the water too hot or cold?

It’s the same temperature usually

I think just be patient! They’re becoming so aware of things at this age. Play fun baby music to lighten the mood 🤍

My baby started doing this as well So I bought him some new toys and I let him play with them in his playpen first so he could get familiar with them ( I put them in a glass container with water) so the next time I bathed him I pointed out his toys and he got so excited

Are you using a baby bathtub? Did you transition her to just the regular bathtub? Maybe she just wants more freedom? Or is going through a clingy stage?

Mine did this for a while. We switched to using just the regular tub and let him play in it without water a couple of times. Then we added just a bit of water for one bath and slowly increased the depth each bath time. You could try showers for a while too.

I was using the grow with me tub so I’m thinking about transitioning her to a seated chair for the tub or just have her in the tub. I think she wants more freedom but it also seems like she doesn’t like the water that much anymore

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Maybe it’s a separation thing, my sons baths are way shorter bc he tries to stand and get picked up

My daughter went through this she loved baths and then all of the sudden for like 2-3 weeks she absolutely hated them and freaked out screamed cried tried to get out and lost it and then all of the sudden she stopped and loved them again. She was also going through a slight sleep regression at the time which is what I correlated it with
