how to lessen the supply of breastmilk

i spent the last 2 days in the hospital with my baby because she is not gaining weight from my breasts and i had to switch for formula so she doesn’t get sick and is getting the correct calories needed, i’ve had an amazing supply since birth, i found out i was pregnant because my breasts were leaking, but now that i have switched to formula 2-3 days ago my breasts are very engorged and are in so much pain. i do not want to try and pump or hand express as i’ve heard from other moms that it didn’t make their supply go away, i do not want any milk in my breasts as i can’t use the supply due to the weight gain. and please don’t bash me because i do not want to pump or continue with the breastmilk i have made a post in another group and had moms attacking me because i do not want to breastfeed as i implied my milk isn’t beneficial at all to my baby. and i understand i can pump the milk out and use it for baths or make soap with it but i am also uninterested in that as i said i dont want the supply to stay in me. does anyone have any recommendations? i just want to stop being in pain

i have tried the ice trick, i am not sure if i did it wrong but the ice melted very quickly for me and dripped down my bra so i removed the ice, i heard you can use cabbage if you freeze it then keep it in your bra overnight, i plan to try that tomorrow night (because i need to go to the store)

I EBF’d for 7 months and the past week/week and a half I’ve put baby onto formula. I was feeding one side every 3 hours so that’s 6 hours for each one to fill up. So when I started I just pumped when engorged. (Probably pumped like twice cos I also hate pumping) and I fed during the nights (only been doing bottle feeds the past 2 nights) and I only get engorged every 24ish hours now. I did hear doctors can give you a medication to take that will dry it up (?) don’t know if this is true but heard it along the grape vine. I’m also waiting for my supply to dry up 🤍 wishing you all the best and well done for breastfeeding in the first place you should be very proud of yourself babe xx

Decongestants kill your supply.
