@Justine I should have gotten on it earlier. I thought I would be able to get a job quickly like my last two ugh. I’m assuming it’s easy if I’m not married but I was going to use my daughter’s insurance card for proof of identification and she’s on his insurance
A lot of benefits depend on how you file taxes. I'm not married and claim my daughter while I stay home with her. Her father covers our housing costs. That's how my daughter and I have medi-cal, calfresh, and WIC. I think it should be ok that she is on his insurance but I'm not sure what documents they might ask for as "proof" of no income. For calfresh I just had to show a screenshot of my unemployment ending and that was good enough.
In addition to WIC, if you claim her and her father does not I recommend getting calfresh as well! It's been unbelievably helpful. The process to get it sucks but once you have it it's great. I wish you luck!
I dont lie. I’m just that poor! We legitimately qualify for Medical, Cal Works, WIC, and CalFresh. Thank god bc I have twins.
I also dont work right bow and get wic you have to make something according to them so i told them i get $100 from my family claim me and my daughter and dont mention my bf also we are together and live together but he makes to much so i just say we live separately and are co parenting and apply for ebt i used ti hate on it so muuch but $530 for me and my daughter a month fills our fridge now idk what i would do without it😂
Yeah it’s easier to get government aid if ur not married and working. For me unfortunately I don’t work and live with my husband whom I’m married to legally so we don’t qualify for any government aid, we pay for everything.
I claimed the baby, and I'm not married, but my partner makes a lot of money. I was on WIC and Calfresh for a few months before getting a job. To me, if I'm not married, then there is nothing holding a man back from kicking me and the baby out, so I'd be on my own. Therefore, I made sure we were covered with those benefits and medi-cal cuz I almost did leave the relationship at one point.
Lol 😅 how would they know unless you tell them they'll never know. WIC is different from Public assistance like food stamps. WIC was actually inspired by the black panther party who started their program in the 60's and wanted better for pregnant mothers, babies and children of their community in California and it went from only being in one state adopted in all states. In the. 70's
If they catch you lying about your income they will take away all benefits. Also, no people are not lying. They actually make that and need the WIC help especially single mothers. If you’re partner makes 85k a year that’s A LOT. You could try snap but you prob wouldn’t qualify for that either with him making that much. We are on SNAP and I could probably qualify for WIC. We’re slowly getting our debt down which is great
WIC is not different from public assistance and it was not created by a gang. It was created by our legislation with the help of a doctor for the nutritional aspect. I think you’re referring to the black panthers starting free meals for children in the last 60s. A lot of people actually believe they started wic. the government wouldn’t have taken over a gang affiliation like that.

Yes girl, people are lying about their income or they’re not married. I only have WIC for one more year then I know we won’t qualify anymore. We only have it cuz my son is on Medi-cal but me, my husband and my baby on the way will be on Kaiser insurance. And since I don’t work they will eventually ask what my husband’s income is and he makes pretty good money but it’s nice to have government help especially in this economy.
