Baby waking up screaming

Anyone else’s baby doing this? I have no idea why. It’s happening throughout the night, morning & naps - he isn’t ready to get up and is over tired throughout the day due to this

Nightmares I’d say, mine does the same sometimes. Sadly not a lot we can do about it except offer cuddles 😔

@Catherine thank you! Does your toddler seem to go back to sleep after? Mine is waking up at 4-5am every morning and refusing to go back to sleep. X

Usually it’s in the middle of the night and it takes us between half an hour and an hour. Sometimes there’s no consoling her she just screams and screams so we try to distract with a drink or something 🤷🏼‍♀️ honestly winging it I wish I had some better advice 🤣 x

Hi, I don’t usually post on here but this randomly popped up and I have a suggestion. My son (also a June 2023 baby) started doing this in Nov/Dec last year. We were really concerned and monitored him through the night. We picked up that he is catching a breath and then screaming inconsolably. Sometimes this happened a few times through the night, other times just once. We took him to an ENT consultant in Jan because we realised he may be suffering from sleep apnoea. His screaming would happen at the the end of a natural sleep cycle, the consultant explained that sleep cycles are usually an hour and a half each. Waking and screaming (as well as gasping) toward the end of a sleep cycle is a classic pattern of sleep apnoea. He has been on a daily medication since for his adenoids and tonsils and is due his tonsils and adenoids out in the summer (after his second birthday). Your situation may or may not be related but something to look out for x
