@Nicole ahhh okay what toddler bottle did you try? And I will have a look at them thank you xxx
We actually forgot the bottle when we went away for the weekend so one night he just didn’t have it 😂😂 then we didn’t go back to it! He had an open cup and a straw and now he just has a cup of milk before bed.
@Francesca oh okay that’s good! Does he drink it himself? And not spill it everywhere, I think if my lb was to have a open cup it would go everywhere😂😂😂xxx
We switched over at 12 months - he was having water in the tommee tippee sippy cup at the time so one evening I just put it in that instead of a bottle. He didn’t like it the first night but I just kept going and didn’t revert to a bottle and he got used to it quickly. Even today he still has his cup of cow’s milk before bed (though I know we’ll have to change that soon as well with potty training 🙈)
@Grace he’s always been very good with holding cups (we have given him baby chinos in China from a young age!) But just hold it for them worst case scenario they spill it and you change pjs
My daughter is the same she will have one bottle in the morning, then her nap then bed. I’m trying wean her off her as well but I couldn’t find right bottle for her as she like warm milk to fall asleep too x
My little boy is still having a bottle at night time before bed. It’s just his comfort it’s a mam bottle it’s not done anything to his teeth. He will have it til he is ready to stop xxx
I'm glad I found this post! My 2 year old is still attached the the bottle at nap times and bedtime and will still wake up in the night for a top up. He's using the bottle teet as a replacement dummy and I'm really struggling. He's now chewed all the teets so tonight is the night we are moving to a new bedtime.bottle
My little girl still has a bottle before bed and in the morning- sometimes a extra nuk bottle if we are off. I don't think I can part emotionally.. She's drank from open top cup her juice and water etc though and I'm ok about this. X
We introduced a cup when we started weaning and we just gradually moved him away and built his cup of milk into the bedtime routine. Food and drinks only in the kitchen. He's used to it now
We are down to 1 a day.. had to stop it through the nights because it was getting out of hand and he wasn’t eating, only wanting bottles! but he still has one to settle him to go to sleep at night. Took a lot of kicking and screaming to get him down to just this one though 😬x
You can swap the teats on mam bottles, maybe try the beaker like teat & then try to wean into a free flow cup? My 2 year old still has milk to sleep at night from a bottle, my sister is a dental nurse & her boss says it’s fine to have milk as long as they aren’t falling asleep with the bottle in their mouth x
My boy is still having one bottle before bed. Then we brush his teeth. Tried the active bottles but they didn’t work!
My Son weaned himself off of having milk in his MAM bottle at 22 months old, he started to collapse the teat and mess around with the bottle. I kept offering milk in a toddler bottle but it took a lot of perseverance before he accepted the milk in anything other than his bottle. Now I'm hard pressed to get him to drink any milk at all currently 2 years 3 months.
