@Nina Had to take my daughter out in the car to get her to fall asleep as she’s in one of them moods😩x
Saaaaame Just anecdotally and not basing it on any facts at all, after chatting with my friend who has a girl and a boy it seems those of us with girls hit the terrible twos sooner and harder 😅
@Sarah I’ve already cried twice today and it’s not even midday. I honestly don’t think I’m cut out to be a mam x
Oh don't say that, it's developmentally completely normal, if exhausting xxx
Its really helped me to reframe my thinking and understand that this is normal and expected and its not naughtiness, its curiosity, exploration, testing cause and effect etc which is all developmentally normal. Trying to reframe to tell myself to pick my battles, and assess whether something is actually dangerous or just inconvenient has been huge. Is it a bit annoying when she pulls all the washing off the airer? Yes, but its not naughty and not serious and no one is getting hurt, I’ll just redirect her and rehang it later, or if I know thats something shes always going to do, I can hang it upstairs. Or if she is doing something dangerous for example trying to pull down a lamp, thats on me as the adult to find a new spot for the lamp temporarily, rather than expecting her to just not touch it (which is unrealistic at this age). Thats not to say to never set any boundaries, but this isnt really the age where they can understand, so Im trying to work smarter not harder at the min 😂
Please try not to beat yourself up, even though it's so hard not too! It's a horrible time because they have these big feelings but don't have the skills to express themselves so there's just frustration all round because we can't read their minds! You are doing your absolute best and you're doing nothing wrong
Same, solidarity my friend 😅
