Weaning

My LB turned 6 months today so weaning journey is just beginning- what are some of the first things you introduced to your babies? I’m planning to do a mix of puree and solids but just wanted some ideas on what others have done ☺️

Broccoli, green beans, peas, carrot, aubergine, sweet potato, courgette, banana & butternut squash have been some faves so far. We’ve done mostly Purree but some finger food pieces as well albeit I am TERRIFIED of the choking so defo not as much as I’d have liked to haha

We have done puree veg a new one each day so far coliflower an carrots are a big winner.. fruits I've tryed as after dinner but she's not keen on fruit except for banana, I have been leaving one solid piece of that veg for her to hold an try but she sucks the end gets annoyed an throws lol every babies different. Keep offering milk as you always have. They may just spit it out when you first try ,very normal my l.g only started eating the puree 2 weeks in so stick either it an enjoy 😀

Mine ate everything we gave her throughout five month. Once she turned 6month, she stopped everything and only taking breastmilk and yoghurt. Don’t know if i should complain to doctor

I have done lots of veg and a few fruits but I try and serve it more than one way so my little girl can choose how she prefers it. So I do mushed with some of her milk and then finger food as well and she prefers the finger food every time. I also introduced egg and yogurt x

@Incognito Birthday twin our little girl is 6 months today aswell and we puree everything we have and give here boiled veg and soft fruits to play with

I used this weaning chart which I found really helpful to make sure I was giving my LO a variety of foods. I actually date in the circles rather than tick so I can see when he’s had what so he’s not having the same thing everyday. Then each week I plan out my meals for him (or a rough idea) and pick a few things to put together in a meal for him. I try not to overthink it with making fancy things, especially at this age so will just select a few couple of things he’s not had recently and give him them and he loves it. Hope this helps! https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1883715605/?ref=share_ios_native_control
