We are in the same position. He is eating sooo much at night. We think it’s definitely a growth spurt/sleep regression moment. Hoping it will pass soon
I think my worry is I end up feeding her around 4 bc I try to get her back to sleep for like an hour and she won’t fall back to sleep unless I feed her. Will she become dependent on that feed?
IMO they are still so young so if they are hungry, you should feed them. You can also ween off it down the road. My guy is having a serious growth spurt bc he is eating 3-4 oz during the night feeds so he is clearly still hungry
Sounds like 4 months sleep regression
This is normal. Hang in there. Try to keep her up more during the day. Also make sure she burps. Sit her up straight.
Try stomach sleeping, as long as baby is able to turn head. We just started with our little one and she sleeps so much better because she is comfortable. We also have a routine of bath time every night before bed and it soothes her and gets it in her head its bed time.
Did you just recently change from swaddle? We had more frequent wake ups when we stopped swaddling but after a week or so we were back to long stretches!
@Catherine did you feed your baby in the middle of the night when they would wake up? Yes we did just transition her out of a swaddle.
It could be the 4 month sleep regression starting a little early. It usually lasts a few weeks and then gets better. In the meantime, you can keep using the sleep sack, make sure you feed before bedtime etc, but I’m not sure if there is much to do besides wait :/ at least you can sleep train at 4-6 months if you want to.
I would give him his pacifier when he woke and if he didn’t settle back to sleep within 5 minutes or so I’d feed him
Make sure she's eating enough during the day and maybe consider a sleep sack at night. Other than that it's likely just a phase you'll go through a few times over the next couple of years
