We’ve sort of potty trained but having LOTS of accidents, not poos but wee’s and my son also won’t tell us when he’s wet himself. Some days we won’t have any accidents and others can have 4+! X
I’m still trying to potty train my 3.5 year old and we’re getting nowhere and it’s just meltdown after meltdown whereas my 1 year old (2 in June) comes and tells me when he needs to poo and will sit on the potty. So I’m concerned my 3 year old is behind and question what I’m doing wrong but as my 1 year old has started then I do believe they’ll do it when they’re ready. You’re not alone and you are doing amazing so don’t doubt yourself!
My 3.5 boy has finally done a wee on the toilet last night but that was purely because it was bath time and was naked from the waist down whilst he waited. It was very emotional for him and he hates it on the toilet. Had nursery today and they tried to get him to just sit on the toilet and he kicked off massively. Got him a toy for being a good boy and brave boy and even that doesn’t work. He was like “send it back”🤣🤦🏼♀️😅 x
Have you tried going straight to the toilet and bypassing the potty ?? She might find it alien as she doesn't see you or any other adults sitting on it ... So it might scare her...if you bring her to the toilet with you when you go (if comfortable) then you can explain whats happening and if she would like to try too.... Alternatively just suggest the big toilet every half hour etc...? She may just not be ready but I would definitely stick with it xx
I potty trained my daughter a few weeks ago and I used bribery (some may not like that idea lool ) if she sat on the potty every 20minutes she got a super stamper then when she did a wee in the potty she got a chocolate button- she was so excited about the chocolate button that when she needed to do her next wee she used the potty, so had to give her one chocolate button every time she did a wee in the potty for about a week and a half, I then told her, she’s a big girl and the chocolate bunnies have gone to bed and she’s actually been fine without the buttons and saying when she needs to go. I know some may not necessarily like that idea but it actually worked for me.
We're still potty training our October 21 baby. He wears pull ups. He can use the potty or toilet for a wee and poo but not consistently. I think he's just lazy tbh. I'll prompt him all the time but he just tells me he doesn't need to go and then 10mins later has had an accident, hence the pull ups 🤷🏻♀️ my older girls were so easy to train so I'm finding it a long and hard slog!
Noone warns you about how taxing potty training is. We are doing potty training revisited! Some days he complies, someday he screams for a nappy. We only do wees on the potty. If we go out he uses his pants as a toilet🫣 but then tonight I forgot to put a nappy on and he woke up and went toilet! We've been inconsistent since march as I was trying to get him trained for nursery this week but no joy!
Some reassurance is what I need I think 🤣🤣
