It's a normal thing i stopped breastfeeding at 4 months because I wanted to avoid this...u can always pump and feed from bottle. My daughter has 2 teeth up top and on bottom with 2 more coming in on bottom and 1 more up top she tries to bite everything and everyone we usually just scream a little and say ouch
My son bites so hard, it's hard not to slap the poor kid.

I found this resource useful for biting during feeds: https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/resources/biting-and-breastfeeding I was having the same issue with biting at the end of a feed, it’s annoying having to pay close attention but it does seem to work!
Thanks @Julia! That's actually super helpful
I got bit one time so hard I pushed my son away and yelled and he uncontrollably cried for a few minutes. I felt so bad!! It’s been a learning curve, but for the most part we’ve gotten over it. I think just as calmly as possible, give him a “break” from either you, nursing etc and he’ll hopefully learn that if he bites he doesn’t get what he wants. That’s what worked for us! Good luck!
My Daughter bites someone told me to have them hold something in their hands so they’ll end up biting the toy instead
Same.... After some big reactions from me, and him laughing.. 😫 feeling hopeless - found what worked best for us was: 1. Watching like a hawk for signs they are slowing/getting bored etc... that was when mine would bite 2. Give them lots of fun attention while nursing!! Eye contact, singing, tickling, massage, smiles - I think mine was craving some play when he was biting sometimes.. 3. Have a chew toy handy! Calmly and firmly saying "No Bite", turn them around, and hand them the teether. Rough at first, they hate the disconnection and it's heart breaking. But after a while mine would grab the teether on his own and have a 'Bite Break' then go back to nursing without biting me 🙌 was awesome 5. Practice saying 'Good Bite' when they are chewing on something they can/should so they learn the word! Esp when not nursing. 4. Don't give up - the 15th time Id about had it, it also has come in spurts, I'm sure I'll get but again - but hasn't happened in quite a while with the above in place!! You got this
Thanks @Andrea that's really helpful. He definitely starts biting when he gets a little bored or is trying to get my attention. I'll start paying more attention and try to catch it early.
biting is unfortunately age appropriate until 3 😞
