Colostrum harvesting and breastfeeding
I'm curious if other plus size mums were able to harvest colostrum and breastfeed without too many issues.
I've tried with my first and didn't work well.. I've seen Many consultants but nothing worked well, from trying to increase milk supply to finding the right positions.
I just feel my breast are too heavy and fat (before pregnancy I was a 40 F).. last time they suggested I rolled a towel undery boob and massage the milk ducts whilst baby was feeding, all of this whilst holding the baby in place.. it just wasn't working and I promised this time I would give it a go but if it didn't work I would just switch to formula without stressing myself too much.
But baby isn't here yet and I'm already stressing whilst I try to do colostrum harvesting and I feel my boob and can't seem to find any difference under the tissue to know where those milk ducts are.. it just feels a mass of fat good for nothing..
Sorry for the rant, just feeling a bit defeated
I'm a 40GG and breastfed my first with no issues. Took 3 days for my milk to come through and wasn't able to harvest any colostrum. Currently 35 weeks with my 2nd, already leaking and planning to breastfeed again. I do hold my boob up slightly for baby xx
