Should i stop pumping and breastfeeding

Im having a really hard time deciding to stop because my baby is a month old and since she was in the hospital ive always had to supplement woth formila i never made enough for her i know breast milk is best for her but im only able to make about three ounces a day while pumping every 2-3 hours and taking lactation supplements she eats 4-5 oz every feeding im at the point where i feel like im not doing enough shes mostly eating formula anyway but im still having a really hard time with the idea to stop. At this point the feeling of my body not being able to do enough is really hurting me mentally.

You are absolutely not alone! I went through this SAME EXACT THING with my second baby. Annnnd what really helped me were fruits and water mostly. *Honeydew, watermelon and drinking water*. Also don't stress yourself out, because you are doing the best you can for your baby. (I think I read somewhere that stress/depression can also decrease the milk supply (idk I just know it's bad 😭)). And if you give her formula that's okay too because it's your baby annnnd no one should tell you how to raise your baby. You just do your best and try your absolute hardest and what feels right at the moment. You're on the right track 😊

hey i went thru the same with my first two. my third i learned some tricks. when you feed or pump put a haaka on the opposite side everytime! that way you can build a stash and your supply. drink a lot of water and eat fruit while pumping or feeding. also pump after every feeding. it trucks your body into thinking your baby is cluster feeding so you’ll produce more. feel free to dm me!

no fenugreek as well

Your baby gets 100% milk from your boob and just because you’re pumping 2-3oz doesn’t mean that’s the max milk that you’re making. You’re just emptying your breast from baby getting off of your boob. And even pumping separately how much milk you pump varies. I breastfeed and it’s the same I can get 2-3 ounces after every session of feeding him. Pump frequently and feed more frequently and that increases your supply.

@Kee Sorry just tailgating but all the websites say fenugreek is good but I don’t actually know any people who have used it, did you not find it was?

@Amy I use fenugreek in pill form and it works great.

@Amy literally it’s called liquid gold and you take 2 pills 3x a day for 10days
