My friend was EBF with a 2/3 month old so was feeding regularly and she got pregnant accidentally ☺️
We're the same way. We're IN it. I'm 3 months pregnant with #2 and have a 9 month old. Id highly recommend ovulation tests then you'll know for sure. I've read the same thing the longer you go between feeds your hormones slowly make less milk. For some you have to completely stop BF for ovulation and your period to return. For others it comes back sooner. So ovulation tests will eliminate the guessing.
@Sarah currently, I’m not cycling. I’m tracking though, and I know what I’m looking for. But my ovulation strips are staying pretty flat. A little spike every now and again, but nothing like what was happening when we were TTC with our second. She was literally the result of SERIOUS cycle tracking lol I lived and breathed those ovulation tracking strips lol😅 But yeah, it seems that I’m not quite back to a cycle yet. It took til my first was I think around 6 months for a regularity to start coming back to the readings I’d get, so, hopeful that’s about the time it takes this time. But I know every time is different 😅 Thanks so much for the help!!:)
@Carly that’s so cool💕
@Amanda oooo girl! Congratulations!!! 2 is a fun number! Lots of juggling, but so much fun!💕💕 On another note, this is what I’m actually kinda nervous about tbh. I wanna continue the boobie feeds but alsoooooooo this is gonna sound so selfish, but, if it hinders our TTC efforts…..I don’t wanna give it up just yet, but…we don’t wanna wait toooo too long, ya know? I may talk to my hubs about what this all could entail if we want to continue EBF. I don’t see it as necessarily a bad thing to EBF until we’re done, ya know? But I also feel like we’d like the kiddos to be somewhat close in age. However, this time around would be our last bebe. 3’s good. lol
Yeah I second tracking your cycles when they start up to see if you're ovulating. I didn't think I was but turns out I was ovulating late (day 25 instead of 16) and I would give up tracking after like day 20 😂 x
@Abbi girl yes! I also ovulate late! Day 24 or 25 myself! Lol
@Ashley for me i accidentally dried up from not eating enough at around 5 months so it didn't effect my BF journey. Id start with seeing if you are ovulating because you'll ovulate before your period arrives.
@Ashley oh haha looks like it's up to you when you're ready then! Pregnancy will dry you up though, so do remember to factor that in x
I got pregnant with baby #3 4 months pp while EBF on demand. It's up to your individual body but it definitely can happen and was a shock to me because I was told by my midwife that BFing was a good form of contraception. I guess it wasn't for me.
Ebf got pregnant 3 month pp but had a miscarriage at 6 weeks
@Hannah oh girl:( many hugs to you fellow mama 🥺💕
I've been strictly EBF since beginning with my first. He's a year now so he does eat food but still breastfeeding alot (Nobody judge pls, my decision to continue BF) but I found out I was pregnant with 2nd and we were using protection also so yeah lol. 😆 little freaking out bc LO still loves his boobies especially during naptime and bedtime. 🤭 But we shall see where it goes. 😁
Girl, breastfeeding isn't going to stop you from getting pregnant. We all have a unique ovulation. If you had a slip up, you need emergency contraceptive. Everyone who uses this method has gotten pregnant that I've ever heard of. Its a myth 🖤
This is totally dependent on your individual circumstances. It's more about whether you're cycling or not. My body doesn't cycle while BFinf now that I'm older. It DID though when I was younger. If you're cycling, then you're almost definitely ovulating (unless of course you have other circumstances blah blah) so the real question is: are you cycling? Are you able to track your cycle? Do you know your patterns and when you ovulate?
