pull over as soon as i can after crying starts, find somewhere safe to park up, check nappy, offer a feed and then try again x
I do the same as Rebecca just with any music that I play a lot, unfortunately you’re not always going to be able to stop a baby crying in the car- it could be anything including travel sickness Just have to hope they fall asleep 😭😂x
I put classical radio on and turned it up super loud so she could hear it over her crying, didn't help at all but helped me a tiny bit 😭 so hard to not feel like she thinks I'm ignoring her 😔 I ummed and ahhed about finding somewhere to stop but there's going to be situations where that isn't possible so powered through glad to know others do the same
White noise seems to do the job a lot of the time x
We just try to talk to baby and say everything’s ok (we feed and change nappy before long car journeys so unlikely to be an issue). He does eventually fall asleep but I’m not going to lie it’s tough! Just make sure sun isn’t in their eyes, they’re not too hot/cold etc, they’re strapped in properly so comfortable etc. x
Random but I recently learnt that reggae music replicates the rhythm of the human heartbeat so babies love it - I’ve tried it a few times and it’s worked for my 9 week old 🤣
My little one is normally ok (unless we stop) unless she’s done a poo, which is common in her car seat (I guess it puts them in the right position 😅) so I find somewhere to pull over, change her, cuddle her, potentially feed her if she needs that but I usually make sure she’s fed beforehand, then carry on my journey. I could never just carry on the whole journey and leave her screaming, it stresses me out even just 2 minutes 🙈
It may be worth giving your little one a measure and seeing if their too tall for your car seat inserts if you haven’t taken them out yet, we had to take ours out around 2 weeks ago as he was too tall for them and it’s made him generally much happier in the car (we’ve also changed to our 360 spin car seat now and that made a huge difference for him) x
In the car I normally play EDM and have not had any issues with my kids travelling 🤣 2/3 of them will fall asleep every time. And the other 1 just bops along and watches out the windows - kids are 3, 2 & 10wks.
I have exactly the same with my 11 week old. I try pulling over, feeding changing, cuddling etc but he starts again when I put him back in. It's horrible. I'm hoping he grows out of it soon
I’m in the same boat, even bought him a new car seat and he still screams his head off. His sister was the same and I can’t remember when it stopped but hopefully soon! It puts me off going anywhere as he cries so much he starts sweating and I just can’t deal with how upset he is 💔 may try the reggae tho! The happy song and white noise doesn’t work for us. Well sometimes he falls asleep but if he doesn’t he’s just screaming x
I play the happy song & sing. 50/50 on if it works but even if baby doesn’t settle my singing drowns out the crying 🤷🏼♀️
