How do I find out how many kids were given a specific name in a given year?

For USA you go to ssa.gov baby names and then it will give you the option to look at the top 1000 for any year or the stats for any name

This tool is my fave for UK https://names.darkgreener.com/ - draws from ONS data, same people who do the census. UK version is ONS data. There are different spreadsheets for boys and girls. One tab gives you top 100 and if you go to the end (I think about tab 6) it'll give you every name that was used that year as long as it was 3 times or more (won't give names only used once or twice due to confidentiality).
