Im going to try to exclusively breastfeed for 3 months 🙂

awesome wish you the best! â˜ș @Chelsey

@Joelle thanks!! I don’t know how well it will go. I took a class and it doesn’t sound like it will be easy 😅

My first wouldn't latch so I (almost) exclusively pumped for over a year. I'm going to try harder to EBF with this one, but I'm open to pumping again.

I EBF my first for nearly 18 months. All the courses before didn’t really help me. I find it’s practical help that’s needed most. The nurses were a huge help in the hospital and we had a postpartum doula who came over for 3 hours a couple of times a week. She helped so much to ensure the latch was correct and fully explain what your body is doing to ensure I produced enough milk for baby. I plan to do the same again but hoping I now have all the knowledge to not need a Doula.

Just to add, baby will go through a few stages of growth where they cluster feed. You may think you don’t have enough milk but your body will catch up in about 72 hours. Just ensure baby is having regular wet diapers and hitting their growth targets. I didn’t expect to have to trust my body so much. Good luck! It’s the best experience and super convenient if you get out a lot.

@Chelsey it definitely doesn’t seem like it’ll be easy but the benefits are so worth it! that’s nice you took a class im gonna look into that tooâ˜ș

@Emily woww a whole year that’s amazing! whew I wanna aim for at least 6 months, a year would be an amazing accomplishment

@Joelle Im sure I’ll need more help after she’s born too, but the class at least gives you an idea of what your getting yourself into haha

that’s soo great @Emma I hope my babygirl will take to latching! May I ask do you think EBF helped with postpartum weightloss? I hear the “snapback” is a little easier because it burns calories

@Emma thank youu for this insight I am nervous of the overwhelming feeling or feeling defeated but I have hope đŸ€žđŸŸ

@Chelsey I agree definitely couldn’t hurt im new to this not truee to it just yet lol😂

@Joelle no 😂 I was 120lb before pregnancy and 140lb when my daughter was 15 months. But you don’t want to be in a calorie deficit as your body needs extra calories to make milk. It is hard to say I was still breastfeeding when I was pregnant. I hear some people do ‘snap back’ but that wasn’t my experience. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will sort my body out when I’ve finished having and breastfeeding kids. I really hope it works out for you! đŸ„°

@Emma that makes sense! thanksss againđŸ©·

@Joelle I had aimed for 6 months or so, but by hormones would NOT let me stop!

Exclusively breastfeeding! I nursed my firstborn for 14 months and it’s truly my favorite thing ever!!

I’m still breastfeeding my 2 year old. I’m due July 14th and plan to EBF 2nd baby too

I breastfed for both my kids and wouldn’t change a thing. Fed is best, but to know your body is meant to feed your babies through you is such an amazing feeling and experience. The bonding time you create with your child is also amazing. I will say the first week is kind of rough and hard for a lot of ppl but once you get past that it just becomes natural. Insurance will provide you with a free breast pump so either talk to your doctor or call your insurance company. Also I think a lot of hospitals can give you a manual pump for free if you ask. Also since it’s your first time I would see a consultant a couple days after you leave the hospital to make sure they’re latching correctly. They usually come see you in the hospital but if you want more reassurance you can ask to see one.

My plan is to breastfeed exclusively for the first 3-4 weeks, then start adding in pumping sessions so I can get a supply for work. From 6 weeks on I’ll do a mix of BF and pumping and possibly formula if needed.

@ally wow you go mamađŸ”„

@Nami yesss fed is best I agree but I definitely want to experience that bond..perfectly said! && I’ve looked at breast pumps through aeroflow breastbumps with my insurance â˜ș

@Madeline awesome I wanna do a mixture as well, breastfeeding + pumpingâ˜ș

I breastfed for 15 months. I lost quite a bit of weight doing it. BUT it was so hard. The first 2.5 months was extremely painful and stressful. After that it got much better.
