Toilet at bedtime

We haven't fully started potty training yet (just moved house giving her time to settle). We have done a little training like taking her when she asks to go (she doesn't always) or we will take her to check her nappy. She is good at telling us when she needs a poo and she will go on the potty. But the past few nights when settling her down for bed we give her a cuddle on the rocking chair she will keep asking to go to the toilet or that she needs a wee wee/poo. We will take her when she first asks but once we try and settle her again she will ask to go again but constantly even though she did go first time round. I know it's just a way of her trying to stay up longer (even if she's tired) but what do we do when we start potty training her? I don't want her to feel like when she asks we won't take her but we can't keep taking her every 10 seconds at bedtime or else she won't settle down but I don't want to not take her and then she has an accident even if she's just been. What's the best thing to do around this? We try and tell her it's okay as she's just been but she doesn't quite understand.

If you mean potty training at night then this isn’t normally done/achieved at the same time as being dry during the day so this could be years off! Our toddler drags our bedtime with needing a poo - as annoying as it is we listen to him and 9/10 he does one.

We had this! So we have a potty in my daughter’s bedroom so this avoids the leaving the bedroom game. I’ll always take her the first time and then after that I remind her that she’s just done an amazing wee and how proud I am and that she has her “pull up” on for any accidents while she sleeps and it’s ok to go to sleep now. I’d say this delay taktic lasted on and off a few weeks but when she realised that she wasn’t leaving her room for a wee, she got bored of it!
