I still feed my 14 month old lol. I just said that to my husband that we need start letting her try to use utensils. I hate a mess and I need to get over that. Also, who cares what the MIL says lol. Shame her for your husbands bad behaviors lol.
@Linda 13 months
Mine can’t use utensils. Been a struggle
@Jillian right?! I was saying if I don’t feed her her food would be all over her 😭 thank you
My little one uses utensils occasionally. Pretty much just prefers his hands still to feed himself. We will get there eventually🤷🏼♀️
My son kinda understands how to use a fork and a spoon he has the right concept but he gets overwhelmed with going slow not to drop it he is 23 months almost 24 and my daughter prefers fingers over anything she also is learning gravity so would rather throw food than eat it. However she has tried to use spoons and does great we dont do forks yet. My daughter is 13 months in a few days
My son can use a spoon but not a fork, he prefers his hands sometimes tho. He's 13 months old too
My 13 month old has gotten pretty good with using a fork, but still doesn't understand the concept of scooping food with a spoon. I don't know any 13 month old though that uses mainly utensils over their hands, and I work at a daycare so I know more than most people😆
Mine is 13 months and doesnt get the concept at all still. 🤭 My thought process is they will learn in time by watching us and exploring. They'll get it when they get it. 🥰
my son feeds himself, and likes the play with utensils but eats entirely on his own...with his hands. It's so messy 😅 i keep just reminding myself one day he'll just use them. I always present the option.
My 13 month old uses her hands. I’ve been giving her a spoon with yogurt, mashed potatoes, things like that. She kind of uses it, still learning. I haven’t tried a fork yet. Oh mother in laws… always something 😫
@Keyara thank you! This gave me so much reassurance
@Veronica thank you 😭
My 14 month old uses his hands. I’m trying so hard to get him to use a spoon and a fork but he just chooses not to.
