How do you feel like baby sleeps better when you aren't in the room? Have you tried it? I'll be waiting until at least 6 months but I know other people that have done it sooner
We moved our son to his own room around 6/7 weeks! We did the same with our first and didn’t have any issues! We get better sleep and he’s done great with it!
We fully transitioned our first at about 6-7 months. Started having him do naps in his crib around 4-5 months to ease the transition, and he did beautifully. We’ve started that process with lil sissy here every now and again for naps but it’s been a bit of a challenge since now, crib and big boy bed share the same room. 😅😬 Sissy is still with us at night in the pack n play 😅 But we’re gettin’ there!😅 What I’ve learned is sometimes, some things need a hard and fast way, and others need more of a gradual transition. It just depends on your kiddo.:)
Mine is sleeping in her own bedroom since she’s 6 weeks old - when I noticed she was sleeping better in her crib than the bassinet. Since then no issue. And honestly, last week we had to cosleep since we were out of town and nobody (including her) slept well. As soon as we come back home, she started to sleep through the night again.
We moved our baby to his own room around 8 weeks since we had night nannies helping out a few nights a week, and they stayed in his room with him so my husband & I could get sleep. I do 1-2 contact naps a day, otherwise, he sleeps great, and I keep the baby monitor (volume only, not video) on my nightstand at night- I use the video during his daytime naps. He’s been in a sleep sack since 12 weeks.
@Sarah she’s in a sleep sack as well and I have the monitor next to me. Do you still have night nannies to watch or is it just the monitor now?
@Becky we were getting such awful sleep and I was trying absolutely everything so I decided to experiment with putting her in her crib in her room one night and she slept like 4 hours vs 2 hours in our room
Aww hun that's tough. Personally, if I were in your situation, I'd do it because we all need sleep 😴 xx
my pediatrician told me keep baby in the room for the first 6 months at least. but you know our baby best, you can always do a trial run too ! my oldest just started sleeping in her own room 2 days ago and she's almost 5 😆 is it possible to put the crib in your room if you're not ready for her to be in her own room yet ?
